The Government’s National Master Plan for Emergency and Disaster Management (2004) identifies earthquakes among the main disasters as potential threats to Jordan.
   
The objective of this project is to equip the city of Amman with a Disaster Risk Management Master Plan (DRMMP) that will ultimately provide a framework for disaster risk reduction,  which can be mainstreamed into the urban development planning process of the city of Amman.  
  
The main components of the project are:

  • Development of Risk Reduction Policy and Framework
  • Mainstreaming Risk reduction into urban planning and management process
  • Development of Personnel capacity of the Cadre of Risk Management
  • Increasing Public awareness and participation in risk reduction
 
Sub- regional Cooperation in DRR Print E-mail

The project participated the Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction organized by the Sub-regional Facility for Cooperation in Disaster Reduction among the Arab State (27-30) October, 2008 in Syria- Damascus.
